first purchase from the pigment store

I finally went to check out the Kremer pigments store on W. 29th street in Manhattan. I loved it! This unique store sells high quality brushes, pigments, and accessories made mostly in Germany. I ended up buying a lovely super simple sketchbook and some non-toxic yellow. My intentions are to mix in some of the yellow into the navy blue shoe cream to *try to* achieve a teal color so I can polish the new shoes I am making. I'm having a hard time finding teal shoe cream. Have you seen any around? ( I'll trade you something for it :D) Most of the sellers I've found online are from the UK. If my experiment doesn't work I guess I will just fork over my weakling American dollars and order it.

Art Star Craft Bazaar

I will have a table next month at Art Star Craft Bazaar in the lovely city of Philadelphia! This event will take place rain or shine on May 15 & 16 at Penn's landing.

Afternoon snack

Trader Joe's Lemon Squares. You have to defrost them before you eat them. Usually by the time they defrost I am no longer looking for something sweet to eat. :/

T- strap high heel shoes under construction

I still need to sand down the back (counter) and the front piece (toe box) and then it is ready to be soled, finally, hooray!

Taking a once weekly shoemaking classes is like Chinese water torture...tiny drips of information at a time. It has been 3 months and I still didn't finish this pair of high heels! Unfinished projects give me bad dreams.

For you mushroom lovers...

I just saw Funtote's new mushroom grocery tote that folds up into a cute mushroom shaped pouch!

Funtote puts out a collection of hobo-style totes with my illustrations on it. I found this cute pic featuring my elephant tote on their site:
