my back to school tote!

This lovely tote bag by fellow brooklynite papi's mami arrived in my mailbox today! Just in time to carry my art supplies for "back to painting class" next week! Yay! Thanks Dari! I love it!

Feeling Squirrelly

This is a detail of the Mutation Craft Fair poster that Amy (star magnolia) designed and I illustrated. I will post the whole poster after Amy works her typographic magic on it. Typographic Magic would make a good name for a band made up of graphic designers. yup.

Old but Funny

Squirrels on Crack, originally uploaded by Mr Jaded.

I was innocently searching for squirrel reference when I found this British newspaper image (from last year) on Flickr- "Squirrels on Crack" (Click on image to read the full story).

Apparently "Crack squirrels are a recognised phenomena in the US."
Um, I guess I need to be more aware when I go to the park next time.

Illustration Friday- "Match"

Almost down to the buzzer...this is my (cheap) Illustration Friday entry.

I've completely lost the will to match my outfits in my old age.

I scream for (soft serve) ice cream!

I'm lovely Pear #2

I'm lovely Pear #2, originally uploaded by m patrizio.

I used a light green yarn and embroidered the eyes on this version. So it's nice and safe to chew on.

I've added it to my SHOP.

Also I decided to purge some of my excess tape *gasp* to make some space for some more tape. One HERE and the other HERE.

My new roommate!

Apple checkers!

you know you need this. I would seriously be tempted to get this if the board colors were cuter. The black is too harsh on my eyeballs.

I like this simple apple checker set too.

stuff on my softie

stuff on my softie, originally uploaded by m patrizio.

almost as amusing as "stuff on my cat"

This Timmie is moving to Michigan!

Bear button from Germany

Bear button made in Germany
about the size of a thumbnail. The shop owner wanted to sell it to me for $1.20 but they mispriced it for $ .90 on the box, which I still thought was too rich for my blood, so I only bought 1.

Edit: I just noticed the bear head looks just like my So Softies logo <- on the left

What? Not enough apple stuff on this blog?

from Target. I love the concept but the product quality is pretty crappy. But what should I expect for $1?

So fresh and so clean clean

Well maybe not fresh or clean but definitely more tidy. I organized my portfolio site a bit better last night. Currently it's a mish mash of painted stuff and digital "cute" stuff which totally don't go together stylistically but that is just how my brain functions right now. I have trouble choosing one over the other. What are your feelings about having one certain style? I think to have just one would be better for business...oh well.

Above is an image from my '04 sketchbook.

what I learned today...

long titles make my side bar shift to the bottom of the screen! I couldnt figure out what was wrong at first! I thought my pictures were too big so I made some smaller, but it was one of the titles! good.to.know.

W.I.P.

My snobby looking lil' bear head.
I want to experiment using some fabric on this one for the belly. It's hard for me to plan my softies beforehand because somewhere along the line something always goes horribly wrong and I have to change my idea of what it's "supposed to be". So my advice is don't make many plans when you are creating softies and you will have much more fun!

Snap,CRACK-le, and POP

Is it just me or are Rice Krispy Treats highly, highly addictive?
