In other news...I just hugged a stranger on the street! and I'm definitely not a "huggy" type of person.
This is the story of the day- 5 thugs chasing down a pimple faced boy trying to steal his ipod. The P.F.B. runs in front of a car which was a good maneuver in this case because then the driver got out of the car to help fend off the thug children. Then I see the P.F.B. run past my apartment, i feel the need to run after him to see what happened and if the thug posse has stolen his precious ipod. He explains that they didn't this time but he has been chased down already 2 times for it. Then I proceed to do the saddy face and give him a hug.

this book makes me want to have kids...

just so i can decorate a room for them. These are some pics from the Jeu de Paume book Children's Rooms "Stockholm". It is written in Japanese and it is damn lovely. I learned from this book that the illustrator moms in Sweden really know how to decorate a room (for some reason most of the featured rooms are from them,interesting...). All of Jeu de Paume's books are really great looking. Keep an eye out for them. Then buy them. Then send them to me. :)

I bought this small sweet gocco print made by apak studios from The Wurst gallery.

Hopefully I will have enough time one day to whip out the silkscreen kit I got for christmas and make a few prints/t-shirts of my own.

The book is my fav. He illustrated all my designs on to a canvas sketchbook and then painted in the timmie character. I like that only one thing was painted in and everything else was left raw-ish.

I found this white chest of drawers in my neighbor's trash last week. It is real solid wood and has metal pulls! I totally love it while my family thinks it is still trash!

Sunday- I went to check out the Egon Schiele show at the Neue Galerie in upper manhattan. His work is really amazing and definitely ground breaking for his time (late 1800 early 1900's) and now! He died when he was only 28 yrs old and to see the amount and quality of work that he created in his short life is an inspiration/kick in the ass. So if you are in the 'hood go check it out! Seriously,don't miss it, the show ends Feb 20th!

Monday- was my 28th birthay! (28, sound familiar??) I am awoken from my slumber by the sound of metal crunching and screeching tires. There was a very crunchy car crash on my corner. So I jumped out of bed to call 911 and as I am explaining the situation to the operator I see one of the drivers trying to bash in the other driver's window with his foot. AS IF their cars hadn't sustained enough damage as it is. I learned a lot of new ways to use the F word that morning.

Tuesday/today- I get a nice phone call from San Diego saying that the tickets I ordered can't go through. I have no clue what the hell this lady is talking about. Wellllllll.....some F-er stole my credit card # and was using it in California. Isn't that lovely?

my house shelf finally arrived! I purchased it off of e-bay and it was much smaller (and dustier) than I imagined but i still like it! I don't have many minature things so temporarily I filled in the spaces with random stuff like soap and lip balm :) I would like to make some small sculptures or some more micro softies to add to it.
