Came across these tonight on MarthaStewart.com.
Lots of useful labels & ideas in there. My concern with home printed labels (on inkjet printers) is that most of the time they are not waterproof. One drop of water and your design melts away.
Waterproof adhesive sheets are available though, I saw some here. 100 sheets/$59.95.

I love making labels for stuff around the house. But exactly the same reason as you I don't do it as much - since they will get all blurred/ruined if any water gets on them. I am going to look into those waterproof labels - thanks for sharing!
