Great idea, unfortunately there seems to be a great difference in the quality of things people have to trade, and the things that they want.They want very specific, high quality things. They have junk.
I think eBay still functions better in this regard.
I think this would work well if you have furniture you have to get rid of because you are moving. If someone in the same area can use it and pick it up from you I think that is great! 85% of my furniture has come from people's trash.
