Sketchcrawl NYC: American Museum of Natural History

Here are my sketches from the sketch crawl at the AMNH. I drew them with a black paper mate pen.

It was a lot of fun and I finally got to meet wonderful Amanda! You must go check out her sketches! They are amazing!

I can't wait to do it again!

Nice! Sorry I missed you Sunday! I usually sketch in ballpoint as well, but prefer blue. Do you use the Write Bros model from Papermate? It's my fav. I am in love with your softies, BTW. Your still lifes are sweet as well. Do you know of Duane Keiser? Google him and check his still lifes (his blog is on Blogger as well) I think you'll like them!

Great drawings, lovely line work. Nothing like a ballpoint pen to get the job done, eh?

hey girl. we stopped by the gallery yesterday but they were closed. Will try again. Then we went over to visit the softies at yoga baby. v. cute.
We also drove modpod out to Coney Island for a spin on the cyclone, then to the River Cafe for a nice glass of bordeux under the bklyn bridge.

Today I took him to the Van Gogh show at the Met, a little shopping at Barneys, a drink at the Algonquin, and dinner at Balthazar. The damn kid is getting spoiled rotten but still gives me flack about Bensonhurst vs. Flatbush. He's kind of a sourpuss but I think I can break him.

Thanks everyone!

Cully- I dont think it is the write bros model, it just says papermate with an M next to it. It is funny that you mention Duane Keiser because Amanda was talking about him while we were sketching these! She mentioned that she bought one of his paintings and that it is great!

Amanda- I think the gallery has special hours, it probably has them listed on the website (www.objectimagegallery.com). But thanks for making the effort to go see them! If you go again look for them all the way in the back on the right.

Lydia, you are very lucky to have such a cool, talented sister like Amanda! :) One day we can all meet up in Park Slope!
