Bamboo Fiberfill

I just ordered some bamboo fiberfill for my softies, has anyone heard anything about this product? Is it nice and fluffy? I want to move away from the polyester stuffing to something more eco-friendly. I've been trying out organic cotton stuffing but I find it a bit too stiff for my crocheted creatures. I think the cotton is better for tightly stuffed cloth softies. I hope the bamboo stuffing is going to be good. In any case, I'm excited that natural crafting supplies are becoming more readily available.

I think the Lord is trying to tell me that I really need to clean my floor today. Yes, it's true. I do.

Q: What do you do if your fiance comes home stinkin' drunk from an office party?

A. Wait a few minutes till he passes out, then put pigtails in his hair of course.

The "before" shot is HERE.

Some more paintings added to the art shop...

bathroom shelf

It's that time of year again... the time of year when I inexplicably start buying myself gifts instead of buying gifts for other people! For example 8 bars of handmade soap from Etsy. I am definitely going to be smelling coconutty delicious in '09.

Added to my "Fine Art" shop

Yes, my poor neglected painting shop on Etsy...

I am going to make a serious effort in December to upload my paintings to my art shop on Etsy. I will try to add at least 4 new ones a day (natural light in my apartment permitting of course). The paintings I am uploading range from the years 2000-2003 and are all priced very reasonably. Very reasonably. Downright cheap in fact. I feel like I haven't been painting because I have no place to put them and that is definitely the wrong reason to stop doing something you love.

If this doesn't work out I am thinking about just putting a table outside with them and hope that someone will steal them. If that doesn't work, a bonfire is always an option, right?

Timmie rock is that you?

Timmie rock is that you?, originally uploaded by m patrizio.

Here is a rock that I came across in Iceland that reminded me of Timmie.

Cloudy yet colorful

I loved the colors of the houses in Reykjavik. My heart would skip a beat when I would come across a grey and earth toned scenery with just a few bright punches of color. Many of the homes in the town seemed like beautiful futuristic farmhouses to me. Now I find myself daydreaming about living in a brightly colored tin house too. Also, another thing I liked about the homes over there were the lack of window coverings. I mean, I don't want to sound like a creepy perv or anything but I really do enjoy looking through people's windows (in a nonchalant way of course) to see how they set up their living spaces and what's for din din, etc. :D

Amelie Revisited

I just had a chance to re-watch Amelie. This has to be one of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. I am not a big movie watcher and the only other movie that I can remember having any impact on me was The Goonies from the 80's. I love the intro in Amelie so much, when they show all the indulgences of all the characters in Amelie's life. For some reason I get really inspired when I see people who can become passionate and focused on one particular thing, especially something small that no one else would pay much attention to.
