Just found out
that one of the founders of Starbucks was originally from Brooklyn in an area not so far from me. I feel better now for paying them 7 bucks for my coffee. Maybe.

They also offer health insurance to their full and part time employees, that should make you feel even better!
Boo hiss on Starbucks! Even though they offer very nice benefits to their employees, they're taking over the world (seriously, Starbucks in Paris is wrong) and putting the little people out of business. Support the independent coffeehouses...please. :)
For the parts of the world that don't have cozy cafes already, I do believe Starbucks is a great place to meet up with people for business,etc. I wish I had a friendly independently-owned cafe walking distance from my home. The cafes near me are reserved for the mafiaesque. So since my business does not involve chopping people's heads off and dumping bodies in the bay, I don't feel comfortable bringing any of my clients there. Capisce? :)
