mushroom cap dude
Wednesday, September 28, 2005
From this month's painting sessions. Each painting is done in 2 sittings of 3 hours each. The one on the left is from Week 2 and the one on the right is from Week 4. What happened to week 3's painting you might ponder? Well, that week I completely forgot how to paint and draw and came home with a painting that was complete poo which I immediately gessoed over in hopes of at least salvaging the paper.
As per bloodybunny's suggestion to quit your droolin' and make your own stuff. I started making this mushroom. Right now I am waiting for the paint to dry so I can varnish this sucker and add it as a cap to a bottle I have laying around. I will post that pic as soon as it is done. I am sure you won't be able to sleep tonight in utter anticipation. Right? ;)

Added to the shop!
I've just added Candy Cane Girl to the shop!
Dear shiny rounded red objects,
I love you.
Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.
These fine objects are wooden coin banks from France made by the company VILAC. Check out their website, all their work is amazing!
Meet Candy Cane Girl!
Other than the elusive cram cream items, I go crazy over decole stuff. I've been collecting images of all the stuff I would want if someone in America ever decided to import them. Hello retailers! Wake up and smell the cold hard cash of cute addicts!
Here are my only U.S. cram cream resources
And Some Decole links - Japanese sites
Now if I only knew how to read Japanese, life would be grand.
Lopsided Larry featured on ETSY!
I just noticed Lopsided Larry is a featured item on Etsy this week. How exciting! I hope the fame doesn't go to his head!

Lunch and a Toy Rooster
Everytime I go to make something to eat I feel like I am in those cartoons where they split a bean to share. I combined my only 2 combinable products to make..Voila! The scrambled egg bits with cheese. Not a very big meal as you can see. You would think I would be thin as a rail with this kind of daily meal, right? But no, my gluteus maximus still remains maximus. *sigh*

Monster Timmie in his new home!
America is definitely the land of opportunity. Take Timmie Monster, he came from the streets of Brooklyn, mumbled, people thought he was a weird European dude, rejected by his own kind...To become a doctor at a crochet animal clinic in New Mexico! Dream big people! If Monster Timmie can overcome his obstacles, you can too! Thanks Mattie and family for adopting Monster Timmie and giving him the confidence to create a better life for himself!
Mr. Owl 2 added to shop!
Here is Mr. Owl 2 , this will be the last of this color owl (i think). He is different than Mr. Owl 1 only by that the white of his eyes are stitched in with pink thread instead of white. I've added him to my SHOP today.

WARNING NEW YORKERS!!
Attention to anyone eating out in nyc. DO NOT go out to eat at CEDAR on university place. Here's why. I ordered an ice tea and it came unsweetened so they provided a spoon to stir the 8 packages of sugar I was about to put in. So I stir and stir and stir some more. Then I go to take out the spoon and found green mystery substance caked onto the spoon. I am guessing it was mustard, so I call over the waitress and she has no clue what it is either and unappologetically gets me another drink. Fine, I can live with a little mystery substance in my system. Then the food comes, a cheeseburger, an american staple, nothing fancy. We get half way through it and my boyfriend finds a humongo hair in it that he was trying to yank out for a good 30 seconds before he gave up and threw down his burger. So I call the waitress over and ask for the check. Do you think she asks "Is there anything wrong with your burgers fine customers, you've hardly eaten any of it?" NO, SHE DID NOT! So like nice people we pay the check and leave the right amount of tip and haul the F outta there. Needless to say I almost barfed on myself. In fact there was a lovely pile o' barf right in front of the restaurant. Now ladies and gentlemen and my 2 japanese children fans DO NOT EAT AT CEDAR TAVERN! It is on University and I believe 12th street, avoid it like the plague! Have a great day, M
Added to the shop!
I've added more Mr. and Mrs. Owls to the shop and also Pinkcat! So drop in and say hello to my little friends ;)
